This painting of a moody street scene, with several couples out for their evening stroll, really inspired me. I wanted to capture the way the minimal light sources picked out the different wandering figures in a kind of sleepy setting. The colours depict the mood and the coolness of the evening, amplifying the call of the neon signs to come inside and perhaps ‘dine, drink or dance?
